2009 Mac Mini Graphics Card Differences?
I’m considering buying a new 2009 Mac Mini from the Apple Store.
I notice that the difference between the two models that you cannot upgrade through the store is the graphics card.
The $599 model has only 128MB of RAM in the graphics card, while the $799 model has 256MB of RAM in the graphics card.
I’m not a huge PC gamer, but I suppose the potential is there if I could boot Windows. Most of the heavy lifting it would be doing would be from desktop publishing/graphic design software.
Is it a good idea for me to spring for the more expensive model with the superior graphics card?

Go with the more expensive model. The graphics is shared with the main RAM, so the more you have the better. There’s no way of upgrading graphics in the mini, so what you get when you buy is what you get. The higher end model has more memory overall, which I would definitely recommend for any sort of graphics work. If you don’t want to spend the extra $200, just upgrade the RAM when you get it from 1GB to 2GB. You will definitely notice the difference.
